What is Scrip?

​

Scrip fundraising is a program that enables our parishioners to help raise money for the Ste. Genevieve Parish Operating Budget and potentially school registrations (PSR) or Tuitions (Valle Schools Student Tuition, or Valle Pre-School Student Tuition).

 

Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks and credit cards.

How does it work?

​

We purchase gift cards and certificates from local and national vendors at a discounted rate and sell them to you for full face value.

​

Here's an example...

​

Mrs. Smith needs groceries, so she buys a $100 Rozier's Country Mart gift card through the Ste. Genevieve Parish Scrip program, which we have purchased from the vendor for 3% less than face value. When Mrs. Smith checks out at Rozier's Country Mart, she pays with her gift card instead of using a credit or debit card. It's that easy! (Each retailer, both locally and nationally, has a different percentage discount.)

 

By using your existing household shopping budget to purchase Scrip, you don't have to sell anything or incur any out-of-pocket expenses to help increase the Ste. Genevieve Parish Operating Budget.

How are the profits distributed?

​

The SCRIP purchaser can choose to allocate the 100% of the revenue generated to the Ste. Genevieve Parish Operating Budget.

 

Or the purchaser can choose to split the allocation of the revenue generated from purchasing SCRIP cards/certificates between the Ste. Genevieve Parish Operating Budget (25%) and any one of the following:

1) a Valle Schools Student Tuition (75%) or

2) a Parish School of Religion (PSR) Registration (75%) or 

3) a Valle Pre-School Student Tuition (75%).

Who can purchase Scrip?

​

Anyone can purchase Scrip! Grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends of the family or neighbors can all purchase Scrip and designate where the revenue that is generated will go.

Which Scrip cards are normally kept in-stock at the Parish Office?

 

To see a full list of the physical Scrip cards we normally keep in-stock at the Parish Office, please download our Scrip Order Form using the link on the right-hand side of the page.

 

Any retailer not listed on this order form, but available for order on www.RaiseRight.com is considered a special order. Delivery of these cards will vary depending on the vendor and your order date.
