Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation completes Baptism, in the sense of calling the person to a fuller living of the Christian life.

God initiates the action with an outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament.

"Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds."

Catechism of the Catholic Church #1316

Confirmation Preparation is offered to 8th grade students in both Valle Catholic and the Parish School of Religion.

In February, the candidates have the Rite of Enrollment. After all preparation is over, the candidates are confirmed either by the Bishop or Auxiliary Bishop here at Ste. Genevieve Parish in late April or in early May.

Confirmation is also offered through our RCIA program.
